The Aboriginal Family Led Decision Making (AFLDM) program is designed to assist with providing a culturally safe space for Aboriginal families to come together, where they can create an individualised plan on how best to support the children and their needs.
The program supports Aboriginal children who are experiencing out of home care, and their families.
Its primary goal is the safety, development and wellbeing of Aboriginal children and young people involved with the Child Protection and the Out of Home Care system.
We place a strong focus on the best interest of the child or young person in the context of their family and community.
The program aims to support families to gain an understanding of how and why case plan decisions have been made and provides opportunities for constructive discussion.
