Want to play some basketball?

The Victorian Aboriginal Community Services Association Ltd (which we all know as VACSAL) will host its annual statewide basketball tournament in Shepparton, March 9 – 11.

VACSAL is a state-wide agency that provides advice to government on a range of community development issues, and is a provider of services to the Aboriginal community in both the metropolitan and some regional communities.

Every year VACSAL holds sports carnivals such as the football, netball and basketball carnivals.

This year’s basketball tournament will be held at Shepparton Sports Stadium and the Visy Basketball Stadium in Shepparton.

Bairnsdale Regional Unlimited Sports (BRUS) is holding tryouts for local teams at 12pm on Saturday January 13, 20 and 24, at Bairnsdale West Primary School.

If you are in any of these age groups, please come along to the tryouts so that BRUS can know how many people want to play in this year’s carnival.

  • U10 Mixed (born 2015-2017)
  • U12 Boys (2013-14)
  • U12 Girls (2013-14)
  • U14 Boys (2011-12)
  • U14 Girls (2011-12)
  • U16 Boys (2009-10)
  • U16 Girls (2009-10)
  • U18 Boys (2007-08)
  • U18 Girls (2007-08)

After this process of tryouts, selections will occur and teams will be decided.

Once teams are selected, training sessions will happen every Saturday between Feb. 3 and March 2.
