There’ll be a meeting in Bairnsdale on Friday, 3 March, to discuss the possibility of forming a Local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group.
What is a Local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group?
It’s a committee of local community members who volunteer their time to provide advice on Koorie students, from Early Years (kinder) to Higher Education (university).
Members of a Local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group are local Aboriginal community members who have an interest and commitment to Koorie education, and bring knowledge and experience to Koorie education issues across all sectors.
They advocate for Koorie students and their families in respect of education matters.
They work in partnership with the Koorie Education Workforce and many more Koorie Education stakeholders.
Parents, guardians, carers, Koorie students and community are invited to come along to a Community Information session on forming a Local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group for Bairnsdale.
Come along for a feed and a yarn.
- Date: Friday 3 March
- Time: 11:45am – 1pm
- Place: Staff Room, Bairnsdale 754 Primary School, 330-370 Main St, Bairnsdale.
